What is the Dog Garden membership?

It's an annual payment of $299.000 that gives you access to buy daycare plans and lowers the price of a single daytime stay, from $85.000 to $65.000 for dogs up to 15 kg. It renews on the anniversary of your first membership.

How do the daycare plans work?

Each plan is a package of prepaid stays used over 5 weeks, counted from the first stay used. It works for any daytime stay from Monday to Sunday, it can't be used for the hotel, food or bathing, and unused stays are forfeited when the 5 weeks end.

What should I bring?

Just their food. At the daycare we have beds, bowls, toys and everything else your furry one might need during their stay.

We recommend not bringing their belongings, because they run the risk of getting damaged during play with other dogs. That way we're 100% focused on your little one and not on looking after objects.

What does the hotel include?

The hotel service includes 24/7 care. During their stay, your furry one does these activities:

  1. Guided play: fetching the ball, hiding treats, jumping obstacles.
  2. Free play: whenever they want, they can play and chase each other with their little friends.
  3. Command reinforcement: shake, sit, stay.
  4. Sniff walks: when the weather allows, 2 to 4 slow-paced walks of 20 minutes, always on a leash, letting them sniff and mark.
What does a dog daycare include?
  1. Lodging: the dog daycare offers a comfortable and safe space for dogs to stay while their owners are away.
  2. Daily walks: dogs staying at Dog Garden enjoy daily walks to exercise and socialize with other dogs.
  3. Play areas: the daycare has spacious play areas where dogs can have fun and socialize in a safe and supervised environment.
  4. Veterinary care: in case of medical emergencies, we have veterinary support available 24 hours through partners to care for the dogs that need it.
What happens if I leave my dog at a daycare?

Your dog will have fun mingling with more furry friends. You won't have to worry about a thing, since the people who work at daycares are great professionals and also have dog-training knowledge, so they'll know how to handle any kind of conflict or behavior problem.

What vaccines does my dog need to come in?

We ask for an up-to-date vaccination record, with the complete schedule for their age: multivalent and rabies. We also ask for the kennel cough booster, because being in a group it's the most contagious. We check it in the first-day registration.

From what age do you accept puppies?

We don't have a minimum age. We accept puppies as soon as they have the complete vaccine schedule for their age. With vaccines up to date, your puppy can start socializing and playing with us.

Do you accept unneutered dogs or females in heat?

Yes, we accept unneutered dogs. The only thing we can't take is females in heat, because they disrupt the group dynamic. If your girl is in heat, we wait for it to pass and gladly welcome her afterward.

Do you accept large breeds or dogs that need special handling?

Yes, we accept dogs of all sizes, including those over 35 kg, at a special rate for them. There are only a few breeds needing special handling that we don't accept; if you have doubts about your furry one, message us on WhatsApp and we'll confirm.

Do you do a trial day before the first stay?

Yes. The first day is an evaluation: we gradually integrate them into the group and watch how they feel, and we let you know by WhatsApp how it went. If we see they're not comfortable, we tell you honestly.

Do I need to book or can I show up without an appointment?

For daytime daycare, message us on WhatsApp the day before and we'll confirm a spot. For the hotel we do need advance booking, especially during holidays and long weekends.

What happens if my dog doesn't adapt?

We tell you straight up. On the evaluation day we see how they do with the group, and if they get stressed or aren't comfortable we tell you exactly what we saw. Sometimes it's solved with shorter stays at first; if not, we'd rather honestly tell you that daycare isn't the best fit for them.

Do you accept medicated dogs or dogs with medical conditions?

Yes, as long as you tell us in advance. You leave the medication with the dose and schedule in writing and we give it to them. If they have a condition that requires special care, let's talk about it before the first stay to see if we can handle it well.

What happens in a veterinary emergency?

The first thing is to let you know immediately so we can decide together what to do. If your dog needs urgent care and we can't reach you in time, we take them to a vet to be checked without delay and keep you informed at all times.

Is there a half-day rate?

No. We have a single daytime stay rate that covers the whole 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. range, whether you leave them four hours or twelve. That way you don't have to calculate times.

What happens if I pick up my dog after 7 p.m.?

We close at 7:00 p.m., so we ask you to arrive before then. If your day gets complicated, message us on WhatsApp: depending on the situation we can turn the day into a hotel night, which is charged as such.

Do you accept cats?

No, dogs only. Dog Garden is designed for dogs to play in a group, and a cat wouldn't have a good time in that environment.

How many dogs are there per caretaker? How big is the space?

We have 300 m². On walks to the park we take 3 to 5 dogs per caretaker, and the number depends on each dog's behavior: if one needs more attention, it goes in a smaller group.

Do you use cages or crates?

No. Dog Garden is a daycare that's 100% free of cages and crates, with green areas and open spaces where your furry one can move around and play.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash, card, Nequi, llave and bank transfer.

Is there parking?

You can park right in front of the daycare, so dropping off and picking up your furry one is quick, without circling around looking for a spot.

What area is Dog Garden in?

In the Batan area, on Avenida Carrera 50 #114-20, in northern Bogota. Many people know the zone as La Alhambra or simply as Calle 116: it's the same sector.

How do I get to Dog Garden?

We're on Avenida Carrera 50 at Calle 114, a few minutes from the Autopista Norte and Avenida Suba. If you're coming from Cedritos or Usaquen, cross the Autopista at Calle 116.

What are your hours?

We keep hours that are super flexible with the workday: Monday to Sunday, from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

You can drop off your little one at any time within that range, and pick them up at any time within that range too. We don't have a transport route.

Are you open on Sundays?

Yes. Dog Garden is open 7 days a week, including Sundays, from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Are you open on public holidays?

Yes. We are also open on public holidays, at the same hours, 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Where should you leave your dog when you go on a trip?

The best place to leave your furry one when you go on a trip is a dog daycare. There they can socialize with other little friends while also being cared for by professionals and experts who make sure they stay safe and healthy.

How can you tell if a dog misses someone?

Dogs are social animals and can miss the people they're familiar with. Some signs that may indicate it:

  1. Restless or anxious behavior: they may show signs of anxiety and be more restless than usual, pace aimlessly, bark for no apparent reason or constantly seek their owners' attention.
  2. Loss of appetite: they may lose their appetite or refuse to eat, which can be a sign of depression or stress.
  3. Changes in elimination behavior: they may have trouble going potty, urinate or defecate in inappropriate places, or have diarrhea.
  4. Destructive behavior: they may chew objects, tear things or dig in inappropriate places.

It's important to keep in mind that these signs don't always mean a dog misses someone specific and may have other causes. If you have concerns about your dog's health or well-being, it's best to consult a vet.

What should you keep in mind when choosing a daycare?
  1. Safety and cleanliness: the play areas and rooms should be clean, well ventilated and free of health and safety risks for the dogs.
  2. Trained and experienced staff: ask about their experience and training in dog care and how they handle emergency situations.
  3. Size and type of dog: make sure the facilities and services are suitable for your dog's size and type.
  4. Activity program: ask about the activity programs, playtime and daily walks.
  5. Additional services: bathing, grooming, veterinary care and training.
  6. Reviews and references: look for online reviews or talk to other dog owners.
  7. Prior visits: before leaving your dog, visit the place, meet the staff and ask about the daycare's policies.
